Hi! Marsha here! I'm turning 62 on Saturday, which is scary and thrilling at the same time.
My Substack is Well, That Happened—it’s all about getting older without acting older, dating way younger men, which was never my intention; starting over in another country, and all the ridiculous plot twists.
I want to meet other women writing their way through midlife. Cheers!
Any fellow Xillenials in the house? 💗 my latest essay: Listening to Ann Patchett’s “Tom Lake” unlocked memories of the summer my dad died.
Listening to narrator Meryl Streep(!!!) describe the beautiful and excruciating bubble of summer stock theater, lost love, and grief *literally* unlocked a long-forgotten part of my memory I’d keep buried for over a decade.
Thanks @jessicasmock for creating this space and encouraging others to do the same. I am not sure that I deserve to be here but so appreciate the space to give it a try. I am going through a life transition at the moment. Pivoting careers and discovering more about myself....for my first Midstack Friday share I am writing about the impact of how neurodiversity has shaped my relationship with my father....
Welcome to Midstack and our share thread! OF COURSE you deserve to join us. And so many of us are going through transitions as well. Please stick around and connect with us. You belong here!
I never shared a post from a few weeks ago. It is different, so I was sitting on it. I did a journal club analyzing scientific journal articles in Reiki. It is long. If I were to do another journal club style piece, it would be much shorter and just one article. Are journal clubs interesting to people? Enough to do it again? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Thank you for any insights you have. https://cronepowers.substack.com/p/a-peer-reviewed-journal-called-reiki?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=10gfer
Hi! I’m a newer substacker that has mostly been exploring my father’s suicide through a spiritual and poetic lens this year. This week’s post is a but different, it’s about the revelations that have come but with a Chinese Astrology influence!
I wish I could take out that exclamation point, it’s such a reflex to be positive. It’s really a deep personal share. I would love to find people who have even slightly similar experiences too!
This week I wrote about something that’s been on my mind as a mom of teenagers preparing for life in the real world in the coming short years. What our kids actually learn from watching us, not from what we tell them, but from whether we rest, ask for help, or run ourselves into the ground before we stop. It’s for daughters and sons both.
YO THIS LINE THOUGH: “Our sons are watching too, just learning something different. They're learning what a woman's exhaustion is allowed to look like. “

Hello Midstack. I’m brand new to Substack and just getting started. I write about how midlife women can learn, use and apply their judgement to Artificial Intelligence. NOT your tech-bro kind of writing.
What struck me this week, across a handful of posts I've been reading, is what so many have in common: the courage of a YES. Yes to writing the book. Yes to recording the audiobook. Yes to the conversation you'd been avoiding. Yes to something beyond the roles and expectations that got you here.
We rarely know what our own yes will ripple into...Where did yours start?
I write Midlife, on a Tuesday, for women who've done the reading, listened to the podcasts, and are now figuring out how to actually live in this body, in real time. My last post is my own origin story, it starts in a cold pediatrician's room in Paris in the late 1970s. https://substack.com/home/post/p-206966955
"Yes to something beyond the roles and expectations that got you here" — that's the one that takes the longest to say out loud. The other yeses are easier because they add to what already exists. That one requires admitting the map was wrong.
In this week's Letters to the World, I wrote to the Em-Dash. Our deep love is tragically over due to the homewrecker that is AI. But I have found a new partner - in the En-Dash.
I’m brand new to Substack. Just figuring out what is all about. Late to the party. I’m getting sucked in. Glad i found my way here. Today is my 52nd bday
I’m 50 this weekend and starting a Substack account really has been part of recognising this milestone as a turning point and what this actually means for me..im very excited by this whole new space opening up and the connections in it. Happy Birthday!
Hey there! Mine comes with a trigger warning. I just shared this on my relatively new Substack & have received a lot of community pushback (as well as some support!). Happy to be here!

This is my latest post in my Invisible Things series. You see that someone arrived at the event but did you ever think about what it cost them to get there? https://migrainegirl.substack.com/p/invisible-things-invisible-cost
Hi everyone, I’m Ali, a writer from the north of England writing about midlife in a multi-generational set-up - juggling young kids, work and octogenarian parents with strange habits (I jest). Last week we all went away together to Devon and Dad asked me to find him a pen knife at the shops 🤷♀️ Full story here: https://alitaylormovesmumanddadin.substack.com/p/three-generations-make-holidays-more?r=ctccl&utm_medium=ios
I had a lot of fun with my post today, I used AI to process 100 days of journaling post breakup to analyse my grief patterns! https://withyouinmind.substack.com/p/what-215-journal-entries-taught-me?r=cl6ra&utm_medium=ios

Hi, I am Claire the writer of The Wild Spark. A memoir documenting my midlife journey to rediscover and nurture creativity using the sacred landscapes of Scotland and beyond to inspire me. Here is my 2nd piece where I talk about the calling I felt to St Fillan’s Holy Pool and the realisation that an unexpected water baptism would be my next experience https://discoverthewildspark.substack.com/p/wild-calling-1-st-fillians-holy-pool?r=yorqk&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
And apologies, just discovering this page now but will attempt to post on a Friday in future!
