Midstack Friday Share Thread
Post your latest essay or note
Happy Friday once again! Time to share what you’ve been writing with all of us.
And once again I woke up here in western New York, very close to the Canadian border, to an orange-ish sky and the smell of smoke. The past few days have not only put a halt to many of my family’s summer activities (sports practices, pool days) but caused me to reflect with sadness and anger on the world we’ll be leaving behind for the next generations.
I know we have a bunch of writers who are new to Midstack this week… Welcome!
Here’s how the Friday share thread works:
In the comments of this post, introduce yourself and your Substack in a sentence or two
Tell us what you’re sharing this week
Drop the link to your post or Note
Spend a few minutes on other people’s work too: comment, restack, like, or share
Subscribe to anyone whose writing pulls you in
Return throughout the weekend and into next week
One other thing: if a piece of writing touches you, say so on the piece itself, not just here in the thread. And if you’ve already engaged with someone’s work outside this thread, give it a like here too, so they know.
Just a reminder that our 10-day cohort — the Midstack Going Paid on Substack Experiment — starts on Monday, July 20th, for paid Midstack subscribers. It includes five lessons, five days of implementation, and one clear assignment after each lesson that you’ll post for real feedback from other writers in this community, not “homework” you do alone and never look at again.
Paid subscribers can unlock a link to sign up for the cohort on Midstack’s Perk page HERE (only on the web version of Substack, not the app). Or they can sign up directly HERE.

Hi, I'm an older Gen-Xer who watched the Live Aid concert on TV all day when I was 18. This week was the 41st anniversary of Live Aid, so I posted a story about it that I published last year on Medium. If any Midstackers here are Medium members, it's pinned to the top of my profile page there too.

Hi, I’m Séverine. I write about midlife, body messages, emotional truth, and the crimes committed by calendars (at least this week).
This week I’m sharing Time Is a Scam, about that private little panic that everyone else got the map and you were in the bathroom when they handed it out.
The love, the money, the body, the work, the book, the self you thought would have arrived by now.
Come tell me which clock you’re tired of obeying… 👇
