It’s an anxious and unsettled weekend for many of us.
It’s my daughter’s birthday party today — roller skating like it’s the 1980s! — but other than that, I plan on turning off the news, putting away my phone (mostly), and doing a lot of reading, on Substack and off.
I’m reading the new Jamie Attenberg novel, A Reason To See You Again. And I Elizabeth Strout’s newest, Tell Me Everything, waiting for when I finish.
I want to know what you’ve written, what you’ve read, what you’ve watched and listened to, that has stuck with you — on any subject. Share below.
If you have written a Post or a Note that you want us to read and share, please share in the comments as well.
P.S. We had a great Midstack workshop about how to use Notes on Wednesday. I presented my thoughts and then we discussed the Notes landscape more generally. You can watch the recording here.
I’m reading THE WIFE, by Meg Wolitzer. It seems of the moment because it’s about a woman doing the heavy lifting of work and family life while getting neither recognition nor respect.
I’m also helping out family with a newborn and am so in the moment. It’s a gift and I know I will be writing about it.
Meanwhile my latest newsletter offers cheerful diversions and food for election 🗳️ night.

I'm reading THE CHRONOLOGY OF WATER from Lidia Yuknavitch. As I write my own memoir, I like to read a variety of others in various 'writing voices.' Lidia's is very unique and very powerful.
