Hello! Excited to be here and start to understand Notes better. To be honest, they completely befuddle me. Are they Instagram with humble-brags about their muffin? Facebook with outright brags about vacation? Are they X/Twitter, but with the outrage dial turned down? Or are they some entirely new species of internet creature that I haven't met yet and definitely won't recognize at first?
Honestly, I have no idea. But I'm excited to learn with you all. I've been traveling (hence the late arrival to this party), so I literally just signed up today. Still waiting on the email link to start.

I've been participating in Notes for awhile and do my own notes and restack others with a note added. I do about half promoting my pieces and half to inspire or show something about who I am.
Results vary widely. More is not better. Deoending on the day I do 1-3 notes.
I can pretty much guarantee if I put up a pretty nature photo I took it will get a good amount of likes :)
Most importantly I engage with the notes of others and make an extra effort to regularly support those who support my work and notes.
I've gotten the majority of my subscribers from Notes so it's worth it IMO.
I'm still getting started with my Substack and very open to figuring out what the Notes feature entails! I'm a little lost in how to use it, so I would value feedback and help, along with being able to provide any of my own!
I generally treat notes as a place to put shower thoughts. Low stakes and sometimes funny.
Honestly, it matters less to me that its working and more that I have a place to out these silly things. Its nice if it lands and whatever if it doesn't.
I get that notes make a difference for acquiring followers but meh... i need a good relationship with this plaform more than I need a hiard of readers.
