Hey Midlifers, I'm Vicki, a clinical psychologist writing about life and therapy (from many years on both sides of the room) as I navigate the gnarly territory of midlife.

This week's piece was about facing my fears in public (yes, therapists have phobias too 😊)

Hi, I'm Alisa. After spending decades building the life I thought I was supposed to want, I'm discovering the joy of building one that actually feels like mine. In The Juicy Middle, I'll be sharing personal essays about midlife, reinvention, travel, community, and the unexpected places life can take us.

This week, I'm sharing "Bem-vinda ao Brasil," the story of an ordinary afternoon on a beach in northeastern Brazil—and how the perimenopause I once believed was destroying my life was quietly clearing the way for one that felt far more authentic and fulfilling.

I love the reframing of the perimenopause. I look forward to hearing more about your journey!

Hello, I write about mental health as a psychotherapist and journalist. This week I wrote about self-knowledge and the importance of understanding yourself and why we often aren’t in tune with who we really are: https://withyouinmind.substack.com/p/we-spend-our-lives-becoming-people. Oh, I’m also launching a support group for people going through divorce. It launches on Monday so get in touch if you want a place!

hello, everyone 😊 i just found this page today! i've been on substack since april 16 (three months today). i divide my time between the states (idaho), italy, and argentina. my site, still very much a work-in-progress, highlights my nomadic life, emotional exploration, and my work as a therapist/coach and retreat facilitator. this is my post from last week >> https://www.essence7wellness.com/p/restless-ramblings

Hi Jessica and fellow sub-stackers/bookstack 🖤🤍

📖 I am writing an emotionally mature serialized Dark Romantasy with Gothic Horror elements that is releasing this October.

I posted a commentary note on a potential breakup situation and how it relates to the way I write my characters—link below.

Dropping a note with an excerpt from my upcoming fiction as well.

About That Outfit's avatar

I write about life through the lens of fashion—my field of expertise. This week I got into the bigger stuff fashion actually points to—how we shop, how we age, how we see ourselves. It’s never ever just about the clothes. They're the easiest way into a harder conversation: am I still curious? Still relevant? Still becoming someone? We matter.

I’m new to Substack and have just published the first piece from This Life, Deliberately. It’s about realising I was no longer rebuilding the life I had before, but creating what I want, while learning to live it well in the meantime.

Hi All! Thank you for the opportunity to share our work.

My name is Rhea. I write about my musings on midlife, womanhood, motherhood, and what I'm noticing and making meaning of along the way. This week I wrote a field notes issue that talks about how witnessing something so beautiful and innocent and can make you sad. I also write about things that have caught my eye this month and glimpses of my practice to reclaim play as an adult.

Hi everyone! This is such a great thread - thank you MidStack! I’m the writer behind The Terrible Daughter - a humorous, sardonic memoir about family life with KJ: a man who is always certain he is right.

This week I’m sharing “The Trial of the Terrible Daughter” - a courtroom-style reconstruction of the accusations brought against me by the only judge, jury, prosecutor, and executioner who matters: KJ himself. https://theterribledaughter.substack.com/p/the-trial-of-the-terrible-daughter

Happy Sunday all! 👋🏽

Last year, I got into an argument with a stranger at a festival because I needed to wander before making a purchase. This year, I went back to buy another outfit from him, and it turned into an entirely different conversation.

Sometimes it's worth returning.

This week I wrote about my novel, THE WITCHES OF WALDHAUS finally coming to fruition after years of work! My post also details the rollercoaster of traditional publishing, and the challenges still ahead (I parent two small children, work full time, and still need to finish my draft!) https://meredithjaeger.substack.com/p/an-exciting-announcement?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=j690w

Thank you Jessica! I write about my midlife journey, pivoting my life at 50 and how I have been crossing that messy middle from the old life that does not fit to the new one that feels like me.

This week I wrote about something I was taught as a child: The stronger one always gives in. Coming from my conflict-averse mother, it stripped me from any tools for conflict and forced me to learn that lesson in my midlife. Better late than never, I guess 😅

I'm 82 and I share my stories and lessons to readers who feel they're too old, too late, or too stuck in their lives to make changes. This weeks's post is about how we don't leave legacies, we live them. Blue 💙
